Welcome to the 2024 Harvest Report. In this report I record everything I can about the harvest from my allotment.
2024 has been a struggle for getting plants started. The snails and slugs have had a great feast on my baby courgette, broccoli and runner beans. Which means I had to buy replacements for all rather than using my seedlings.

Late March harvest for Rhubarb
Rhubarb tends to be the first harvest in my allotment, usually because it’s the earliest perennial plant to be ready. Most of the veg I like to grow gets sown around March and April.
Plus I don’t have any over wintered plants ready as 2023 was a bad year for my harvest due to a lack of time in the allotment. Read the 2023 harvest report for more info.
July update
July has been good in terms of rhubarb, potatoes and gooseberries.
- I harvested 651g of gooseberries.
- Just short of 5kg of potatoes.
- A further 1,437g rhubarb.
But it has been a cool and wet summer, which means most of the fruit and veg has been slow to grow and ripen.
